It's been a tough year for hearts

If you’re young and you’re reading this, you guys know what you’re up against. Especially if you’re a girl. It’s sex, right? And even fifty years from now, I’m guessing it’s still gonna be a really big deal. It’s awkward and threatening. And thrilling. But, in a way, it’s like sex is the easy part. Giving your heart to somebody. that’s the scary part.


So I actually picked up my guitar and played a little bit today. I feel like I neglect her, Luna, because she's all dusty and out of tune. I just haven't had the time and will to play anything, but today seemed like a good day to start. After all the snow from yesterday, seeing the sun made me pretty happy. I'm working on playing Missing You by Tyler Hilton, a cover of John Waite. Listen to Missing You here!


I always seem to second guess myself.. I guess you could say thats my biggest flaw. I tend to take a good thing and ruin it with over analyzing and reading too much into it. So I've decided to just let things happen, to not let myself read too much into it and to just have a good time. I'm 20 years old, and I'm nowhere near trying to settle down.. but let me just say this, if you have someone and you love them, don't make it such a big deal. Love them, have fun. You're only young once. Don't second guess anything - we shouldn't have to make a pros and cons list.. and I'm the first to admit I'd be caught red handed. So I'm trying this new thing.. its called living, for me.

In case you didn't know, One Tree Hill's got some pretty good soundtracks out.. they're old but some of the best songs on them came from seasons 2 & 3. Heres my favorites.

Dear Mall Patrons,


I would appreciate it if you didn't treat me like your mother, maid, housekeeper, personal assistant, or bag holder. Last I checked I do not work for you, my paychecks come from my store. I am not there to be your personal slave so don't talk to me like a five year old, I can speak grown up quite fluently. Don't address me as "hey you!" or "uhm excuse me?" - if you would like assistance, walk up to me and ask politely, don't assume I can hear you over the music and screaming baby - start being realistic.

Spring break where are you? I really don't think I can wait until Thursday. Midterms - eww I just threw up in my mouth a little. Already? It was just Christmas like what? three days ago?

Ohh, my most listened to song today was Just Tonight by The Pretty Reckless. Their album Light Me Up is pretty good, check em' out.

Cause in the end it all hurts the same..

I want to believe in it all again..music and art...fate and love, and I want to believe that I've made the right choices, and I'm still on the right path, and there's still time to fix some mistakes I've made....I guess I want hope.

So last night I discovered an amazing band called Forever The Sickest Kids, needless to say I fell in love. It's not too often I find a band like this and not a day later can repeat back to you every lyric to each of their songs. If you're into music like theirs I recommend track #2 I Guess You Can Say Things Are Getting Pretty Serious, for sure.


Music is hands down a huge part of my life. You can dance to it, play it, sing it, whatever.. it's the lyrics that really make the song worth listening to. So, in case you're a music fanatic like me.. here's some tracks & artists I've been loving lately..

That quote is from One Tree Hill. Hands down my favorite TV show. I'll probably be throwing their quotes around a lot - so I'm gonna apologize in advance.


I've learned recently that decent people are hard to find. I can't even begin to explain how many people have made their way into my life & not too long after walked out. Some for the better.. well, most for the better. But there has been one person who has come into my life and for the first time in a long time I'm actually letting my guard down.. a little.


BTW.. I definitely recommend the movie Hall Pass - literally laughed until I cried.
